The developer preview of Android O is out, and there are some interesting features. This is not revealed yet by Google that what ‘O’ stands for? Some rumors believe its “orange” while others believe its “Oreo”. According to our analysis team it should be “Oreo”. As we all know all the previous versions of android are on the name of candies and sweets. So we think that 99.9% its Oreo but .1% it can be orange because no one can predict the Google strategy.

Android O introduces a variety of new features and capabilities for users and developers. This Blog highlights what’s new for users and developers.

Here are some interesting features in this new version:

Better Battery Life:  In Android 7.0 Nougat we have seen a lot of features such as Doze mode. With Android O, Google is further cracking down on erratic apps consuming the battery in the background. Android O will automatically limit what an app can do or cannot do when it is open in background. This feature will stop an app from consistently using data when it is not the main app.

Notification Channel: This feature allows user to have a granular control on each notification channel. For user it will be possible to set notification priorities an importance level through an entire channel.

For example: user might setup separate notification channel for each conversation group created by user. By this user can choose how news based notification or text alerts will be displayed.

Auto fill: This feature allows to user which autofill app they want to use, it will be able to fill password and other details across the whole operating system.

Picture in Picture mode: By this feature user can minimize whatever video they are watching and will be able to use another app during watching the video.

Audio improvements: Google introducing new Bluetooth audio codecs to enable connecting and streaming to wireless audio devices at higher quality such as LDAC.

Adaptive icons: By this feature user can create adaptive icons that the system display in different shapes.
